For many years, Winuk Communications has co-led public relations on the largest terrorism-related legal case in U.S. history — the 9/11 community’s ongoing pursuit in federal court of justice and accountability for the attacks.
We’ve generated hundreds of national and international media reports; staged press events; coordinated advocacy campaigns on Capitol Hill and more. In August 2021, just before the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the agency co-produced a widely attended public webinar with the 9/11 Memorial in New York City called, “Seeking Justice: The 9/11 Community and the Lawsuit Against Saudi Arabia.” This landmark legal case, brought by thousands of 9/11 community members against those international governmental entities that helped facilitate the attacks, is ongoing, as is our work in support of it.
In addition to the agency’s work supporting numerous law firms, Jay Winuk’s work with and ties to the legal community extend well beyond the agency’s client representation. Jay was invited to speak at the American Association for Justice national conference in Philadelphia and to attorneys at a UJA-Federation of NY Lawyers Division meeting. He has spoken at several law firm events; established a scholarship at the Hofstra University School of Law; and has been interviewed by numerous legal trades (and many other media), including the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and AM Law Daily. Jay also helps coordinate and steer Holland & Knight’s multi-year national engagement in a historic nationwide annual charitable program, and annually helps coordinate the John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s participation in a charitable service event.
