NFL Alumni Association &
George Martin
Led by Super Bowl Champion George Martin, retired co-captain of the NY Giants and former president of the NFL Players Association, the then-new NFL Alumni Association (NFLAA) was the first organization sanctioned by the NFL as an independent, alumni-controlled entity to represent thousands of former players in their ongoing dialogue with the NFL.
Winuk Communications was selected to provide communications support to the new NFLAA, including for: media relations and crisis communications strategy for the association’s press conference at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis; press materials development; speech development for NLFAA President Martin’s presentation to the NFL team owners in Boston upon the formation of the association; and support for the association's communications with NFL retirees. The agency continues to represent former NFL Players Association President George Martin in several capacities—coordinating national media interviews for him on breaking news and issues on and off the field (e.g., domestic violence in sports, civil rights and discrimination issues, cheating scandals, prevalence of concussions, Super Bowls, etc.); arranging speaking engagements; book promotion; business networking and more.
